His Tub Runneth Over
The lady in 110 became alarmed when carpeting along one wall in her unit was suddenly saturated with water. She immediately notified her strata council.
Two days later, and before the council had time to investigate, a second flooding occurred in the same area of the same apartment. This time a huge water stain appeared on a bedroom ceiling, one wall of the bedroom was soft to the touch and some of the carpeting was wet.
There was also water damage to the building’s adjacent corridor. The ceiling was water-stained, portions of the wallpaper had buckled and carpeting was soaked.
Council sleuths, with assistance from a plumber, traced the leak to an improperly installed hot tub in unit 210. The handyman/owner had accomplished the installation all by himself!
Clean up and repair was extensive, expensive and very time-consuming for everybody.
