Strata has been a good experience for me

Contrary to what a lot of others have felt, I think my Strata experience was very positive. I was on the council in 2006 as the Treasurer. I felt I learnt a lot about negotiating with people, micro-politics (in a positive light), and together we increased our overall property value.

I think a lot had to do with the great people on the Council. Most members pulled their own weight and we got things done. Also, we kept things lighthearted, had good food at our meetings, and stuck to the agenda. People like short meetings.

As an owner of a couple of strata units approximate age of 12 to 13 years we had to replace complete windows. Cause poor quality vynl frames, deteriorating, causing major leaks. Since found couple of high end quality manufacturers with triple seal and steel reinforced frames. Too many developers are just plugging holes they call windows.

why isn't there atleast a 25/30 year guarantee on window frames against deterioration by builders and window manufactuerers??? Condo buyers should demand a double guarantee from builder and window manugactuer.
