I am looking at purchasing a new condo with underground parking. The developer wants to charge for the parking spaces, In other words you purchase the parking stall.

Is the developer allowed to charge extra for a parking stall?

Thanks

Yes. There are many condos downtown that do not offer a parking stall. New developments further out often offer one parking stall and you can purchase a second.

I've heard of insane prices for parking stalls, often times if a unit didn't come with a stall and the new owner wants one, they have to pay a lot.

If possible it's usually just better to rent a stall.
